Saving Native Species
Priority Places
Overview
The grant opportunity was announced as part of the program to support the implementation of the Threatened Species Action Plan. A list of all 20 priority places under the Action Plan can be found on the Department’s website: Priority Places - DCCEEW.
The 20 priority places ensure a good balance between:
-
diversity of threatened species and ecological communities
-
importance to First Nations people
-
representativeness across Australia’s varied landscapes and seascapes.
The boundaries of non-island places are not fixed. This allows us to target actions in areas that will make the most difference. Non-priority places and species can still receive support from funding programs and research.
