David Bosun hails from the Wugalal tribe, an essential clan of the Mualgal people from Mua Island. He proudly carries the legacy of being a direct descendant of Chief Maga, a notable figure in Mualgal history.
David's deep connection to his culture and heritage drives him to preserve the rich traditions and customs of the Mualgal people. With years of experience and dedication, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the community’s lore, customs, and sustainable practices.
This invaluable cultural information—encompassing storytelling, rituals, and resource management—has been carefully passed down through generations, forming the bedrock of his community's identity and resilience. Committed to the preservation and promotion of this heritage, David documents traditional practices, storytelling, and rituals to ensure they are not only maintained but also revitalized for future generations.

In addition to his cultural work, David has over 20 years of experience in regional governance, having served in elected leadership roles within both the Torres Strait Island Regional Council and the Torres Strait Regional Authority.
