Dr. Corrine Avidan
Dr. Corrine Avidan is a marine scientist and educator with a PhD in Zoology from Tel Aviv University and the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences in Eilat, Israel, where her research focused on coral reef fish ecology and biomechanics.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science (Magna Cum Laude) from Coastal Carolina University, with minors in Environmental Science and Biology.
Corrine brings extensive hands-on experience in both field-based and laboratory marine science education, having taught at the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Sciences, Brown University, and Coastal Carolina University across more than a decade. Her teaching has spanned coral reef ecology, marine biodiversity, ichthyology, and plankton taxonomy, consistently earning outstanding student evaluations.
A National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow and published author in leading peer-reviewed journals, Corrine combines rigorous scientific expertise with a genuine passion for environmental education. Now based in Cairns, Queensland, she brings her deep knowledge of marine ecosystems to EnviroTech's programs in marine habitat conservation and environmental science.
