Climate Resilience Grant
Overview
The Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area Climate Resilience Grant Program aims to drive climate adaptation and resilience in highly vulnerable regions affected by climate change. This initiative integrates First Nations leadership, Traditional Knowledge, and community-based approaches to address climate challenges such as sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and extreme weather events.

Objectives
Program Objectives

Build capacity for climate resilience in the Torres and Endeavour Straits and Northern Peninsula Area.

Facilitate enduring dialogue on climate change across government levels to ensure consistency and coordination.

Promote the integration of Traditional Knowledge with Western science for culturally appropriate climate solutions.

Employ First Nations Climate Resilience Officers to lead climate adaptation projects.
